My wife was diagnosed with colon CA in 4/03. She is currently in treatment at Sloan-Kettering in Manhattan. She receives chemo every 2 weeks. Before her 8th cycle of chemo, we were told that her condition is chronic, and that she would be on chemo for the remainder of her life. Of course, no one can tell us when that will be. I am confident that she will survive, but the news was devastating to her because a recent CT scan had indicated improvement. The side effects are pronounced for 9 - 10 days. She begins to feel better and its time for her next treatment. I would appreciate learning of other CA patients who are in similar situations. How do patients go on and work through the discomfort of chemo? Thanks, CB
