Camps and Resorts

Adventures for Wish Kids AFWK provides support and memories for children & teens with a life-threatening illness, and their families. B.A.S.E. Camp Children's Cancer Foundation BASE-CCCF provides a year-round base of support for children, & their entire family, who face the challenge of living with cancer. Camp Good Days & Special Times Camp Good Days provides a camping experience (and more) for children and adults facing cancer, HIV/AIDS and violence. Camp Mak-A-Dream Camp Mak-A-Dream is operated by the Children's Oncology Camp Foundation and is a cost-free camp for children, teens & young adults (ages 6-25) with cancer. Camp Sunshine Camp Sunshine provides children with life-threatening illnesses, and their families, support and resources. Children's Oncology Camping Association (COCA) COCA provides camping programs for children with cancer. One Step Camp One Step Camp provides educational, social & physical development services to children with cancer, regardless of their ability to pay. Special Love Special Love offers cancer families a network of support, composed of other patients & families who know & understand the trials & triumphs of fighting cancer.

Foundations

Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation CCCF provides education, support & services, & advocates for families of children with cancer, survivors of childhood cancer, and the professionals who care for them. Grant-A-Wish Foundation Grant-A-Wish provides educational, recreational & supportive services to children (18 & under) dealing with a life-threatening illnesses. Justin Scott Foster Foundation JSF Foundation works to create public awareness about childhood cancer, & to bestow the "Bravest Kid" award to kids that have gone, or are going, through cancer treatment. Make-A-Wish Foundation Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses, to help enrich their lives with hope, strength and joy. National Brain Tumor Foundation NBTF provides info & support for brain tumor patients & their families. (Not geared specifically for pediatrics, but has loads of resources, valuable links & chat rooms.) National Childhood Cancer Foundation NCCF supports clinical & laboratory research on cancer causes, treatments & cures thru education & advocacy for the needs of children with cancer, and their families. Starbright Foundation Starbright creates innovative media-based programs that help seriously ill kids & teens cope with their disease. The Starlight Foundation Starlight works to life the spirits of seriously, chronically & terminally ill kids (aged 4-18), and their families.

Help for Hair Loss

Locks of Love Locks of Love provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children, under age 18, across the U.S., suffering from long-term medical hair loss. Wigs for Kids Wigs for Kids provides hair replacement solutions for children affected by hair loss, due to chemotherapy, alopecia, burns & other medical conditions.

2bMe 2bMe is part of Look Good...Feel Better for Teens. Put together to help teens (ages 13-17) who have cancer, deal with the possible appearance-related, social & nutritional side effects of treatment. Brave Kids Brave Kids provides help for children with chronic, life-threatening illnesses or disabilities. Cancer Kids Cancer Kids is a web-based organization created to help children with cancer tell their stories to the world. Provides links to personal web pages of children who have cancer. Cancer Source Kids Cancer Source Kids is a secure site where kids can learn about cancer in a fun & interactive manner. Kids can read cancer info, play interactive games & learn coping skills. Customized to allow for age differences. Captain Chemo Captain Chemo is an animated & interactive educational site for cancer patients, their relatives & friends, to help explain this disease & its treatment. Caring Bridge CB is a free service allowing anyone receiving care to communicate with family & friends using a web page. Uses easy-to-follow steps that allows you to create & update your own personal web page. Chai Lifeline Chai Lifeline has an extensive network of free programs & services designed to help every member of the family cope during childhood illness. Children's Cancer Web CCW provides an excellent directory of childhood cancer resources! Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) COTA provides fundraising assistance for children needing life-saving transplants, & promotes organ, marrow & tissue donation. Kids Aid Kids Aid is a safe place for kids to share their feelings & to help each other deal with grief about any of their losses. It's a place to show artwork & stories, to talk about pets & to meet with peers. KidsCope KidsCope works to help families & children understand the effects from cancer & chemotherapy in a parent. They produce & distribute educational materials. Kids Konnected Kids Konnected provides friendship, understanding, education & support for kids who have a parent with cancer. National Children's Cancer Society NCCS promotes children's health through financial and in-kind assistance, advocacy, support services, education & prevention programs. Outlook - Life Beyond Childhood Cancer Outlook is an interactive web-based information system designed to address the needs of survivors of childhood cancer, & their families, by providing information to help them become their own advocates. PatchWorx PatchWorx provides a safe, secure, and moderated online community for children who are seriously ill or disabled, with games, puzzles, and more. Make friends with common interests, and interact with Patches, the mascot. Planet Cancer Planet Cancer uses this website to remind you of the "lighter side of life" by recording the often entertaining, frequently bizarre & occasionally informative experiences & thoughts of young adults. Ronald McDonald House Charities RMcDHC helps to create, find & support programs that directly improve the health & well-being of children. Sibling Donor Cord Blood Program SDCBP serves families who wish to save cord blood for their children, when there is a specific medical indication for banking. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital St. Jude's works to find cures for children with catastrophic illnesses through research & treatment. Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults UCF for YA provides support programs, education & resources for young adults, their families & friends, affected by cancer. Promotes cancer awareness & prevention.

Squirrel Tales - An Uplifting Site for Parents Squirrel Tales is an uplifting, practical website designed to encourage and empower parents of kids with cancer.

Transportation

Angel Flight America AFA offers free air travel to treatment centers for patients & families. Corporate Angel Network, Inc. CAN provides free air transportation to distant treatment centers via corporate jets. National Patient Travel HELPLINE NPTC provides information about long-distance medical air transportation and referrals.

Miscellaneous

Childhood Leukemia Foundation CLF provides a free Hug u Wear to children who have suffered hair loss due to cancer treatments. Kaps 4 Kids Kaps 4 Kids provides a motor sports-related cap for kids to wear while undergoing chemo treatment. Kids Cancer Network Kids Cancer Network offers a FUNLETTER activity magazine, providing encouragement & fun, with related resources, to children nationwide. Make A Child Smile MACS is an internet-based organization that provides emotional & financial support to critically ill children & their families. Visitors to their site can participate by sending the featured children letters & small gifts via postal mail. Ride For Kids Ride For Kids is a motorcycling community that supports the efforts of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (of the U.S.). The Jared Box The Jared Box is a box filled with small gifts, toy, cards & games. It is given to chronically-ill children to provide a special diversion as they receive chemo or dialysis-type treatments. Find out how you can make a Jared Box, too! The Jester The Jester is a fun site dedicated to bringing the joy of laughter & the love of learning to all children, especially those who may be ill or have special needs.
